Daybreak Garden Plots

daybreak garden plots

There are many great things about living in South Jordan and being part of the Daybreak community.  One of the unique features of Daybreak is the community garden plots that are available for residents to use. If this is your first Spring season here in Daybreak, Utah or you just starting to try out your green thumb, here is everything you need to know about the Garden Plots.

The Garden Plots in Daybreak provide a fun opportunity to involve the entire family in spending time outside working together. It’s a great place to get to your neighbors while enjoying a little time in the sun. Kids love to help and getting some fresh air while looking for ladybugs is a great diversion from staying inside playing video games. There are over 250 garden plots and Daybreak is planning for even more space.

The space fills up fairly quickly, so if you are interested don’t wait to contact the HOA to reserve your space. The plots will be available to all residents starting on April 1st. There is nothing better than fresh grown vegetables from the garden! And even better, community garden provides an opportunity to co-op with other gardeners to trade veggies.

If you had a garden plot last year, the process to continue this year is pretty easy. If you had a garden plot in 2012, and would like to use the same plot for the 2013 growing season, please contact Shirley, at the Association Office 801-254-8062, to guarantee your plot is reserved. Registration and payment will be due at the Association Office by March 31, 2013. On April 1, 2013 all plots not paid for, will be open to all residents on a first come first serve basis.

My family loves to garden. Our tomato plant took over the back yard last year, so I am thinking the community garden is the way to go! To get everyone ready for planting season, over the next few weeks we will have some tips up on the blog on how to start your garden.
