Building a New Home in Utah
Building a new home is such an exciting time! The timeframe to build a semi-custom home can take anywhere from 3 months up to 6-8 months, which is the common time to build a new home in Daybreak. While you are waiting for your home to be completed there is daily activity on the job site and it is cool to see the progress unfold. Here are some pictures of the early stages of construction for a great family we are helping as they build a new home in Utah.
One big milestone in the construction process occurred this last week for our client's new home in Kamas, UT. The foundation was poured! Here are some pictures so you can see what the foundation looks like at this stage. There is also a picture of one of the footings that will be a future patio.
I love being a new construction agent and seeing the home during all phases of the construction. After the foundation is poured, I am surprised every time to see that an entire home can be framed within just a couple of days. Then things really start to take shape as the plumbing, HVAC, electric and sheetrock are all installed. Next it's time for the colors and finishes which are my absolute favorites to see!
We have been working with the K-Family for several years now and they have a great eye for design. Ever since the color selection meeting we had a few months back, I have been so excited to see all their choices come together in their beautiful new home. I can't wait for a tour once it is finished!
In addition to helping people with the actual transaction of buying and selling their home, I love getting to know our clients. One cute story that the buyer on this home told me was that as a child she used to fish in the stream that runs right through their new neighborhood! I love that their new area already has such great memories for her. Here are a couple pictures of the awesome views in this neighborhood.
The builder for this new home is Gordon Milar. He is a quality builder in Utah and if you have been looking at homes for sale in Daybreak, you may have seen his name. Their model home is just East of Daybreak in a community called Jordan Heights. Gordon Milar has great floorplans and their homes include many beautiful upgrades. They are one of several great home builders in South Jordan. Here is a rendering of the Sophia Model home floorplan which is similar to our client's new home in Kamas.
Oh, and while we were checking out the construction progress a quick stop at Dick's (Uinta Drive Inn) for shakes was just too hard to resist! If you are a lover of ice-cream like me, you can agree that not all ice-cream is created equally - and for years Dick's has been famous for their shakes. There is always a line, but the cherry hot fudge shake is worth the wait! ~Natalie
