Daybreak New Construction Tip of the Day
Who is totally hooked on Pinterest, raise your hands. See, I knew I wasn't alone! I love Pinterest and Sunday afternoons are the perfect time to look for pins for everything from yummy baked goods to the new decor trends, to seasonal craft projects. Today while I was pinning away on my iPhone, I came across an idea I just had to share with all of our clients that are building a new home in Daybreak. Here is a quick tip that might make your life just a little bit easier if you are in the process of building a new home. Here is the Daybreak new construction tip of the day!
There are so many design and color choices to keep track of while building a new home, that it is often hard to remember what your final selections were. You look at so many different options along the way that by the time your choices are written in ink you can't remember if your walls will be Botany Beige or Estate Greige. This can add confusion when you are trying to make other design choices and even when you are looking at furniture purchases for the new house.
As an example of the many choices home buyers make, here is Rainey Homes' design center for new homes in Daybreak. Check out how many options you have to choose from when buying a home in Daybreak. It is so exciting to be able to choose and customize the colors and finishes for your new dream home.
You get the drift on how you might loose track of the details. So here is the genius idea I found on Pinterest to help keep keep all your colors organized. This would also work if you already made the great choice to buy a home in Daybreak and you are looking to add some upgrades like new carpet or tile.
Paint stores do offer swatches, but the swatch color is often hard to match other colors too and can vary from the actual color of paint. As a solution, once you select your paint colors, cabinet colors, accent walls, trim etc., head to the paint store and purchase the smallest sample of that color. Make sure to not only get the name of the color from the builder but the brand of the paint. You can then paint popsicle sticks from the craft store (or beauty store) in each color to create a personalized color swatch. Best of all, it will fit right in your purse so you will have it wherever you go!
I have helped with numerous new construction and remodel projects and think this is a great idea. I am always looking for new ideas to help make our client's life easier as they build a new home - so if you have any tips or tricks you would be willing to share I would love to hear from you! ~Natalie
